⚠ Warning: this lock cannot be unlocked or removed from inside. When it is locked, the door cannot be used as an exit, even in a fire. Anyone inside can be trapped.

  • Use it only on a vacant building or unit. Check the whole building and confirm no person or pet is inside before you lock it.
  • Unlock it before anyone goes in, through any door.
  • Never lock it while anyone lives, stays, works or visits inside.
  • Never use it on a shared entrance or any door someone else needs to get out.
  • Never use it to lock out a tenant or lawful occupant.
  • Remove it and reinstall a standard deadbolt before anyone moves in.

No lock can prevent every forced entry.

Limited Lifetime Warranty: the lock, other than the keyed locking component, is covered for as long as the original purchaser owns it; the keyed locking component and keys are covered for one year from delivery. Safe use and property access · Full warning and warranty · Terms of Sale

The InvinciBolt Lock is a metal deadbolt that mounts on the outside of an entry door and slides a bolt into the door frame. It locks with a key from the outside and is made for securing vacant property: rentals between tenants, rehabs, preservation and estate properties.

The kit includes:

  • InvinciBolt Lock
  • Drill bit

Plan on about 20 minutes to install, and watch the install video above before you start.

Fits: a single, side-hinged, swinging exterior entry door in sound condition with a solid frame. Not for sliding doors, double doors, windows or gates.

Before you order, check:

  • The door has a standard round deadbolt hole.
  • The frame on the lock side is solid, not rotted, split or loose.
  • If there is a storm door, it may not close over the lock. Plan to leave it open or take it off while the lock is in place.

Out-swing doors, unusually thick or thin doors, or not sure? Email a photo of the door edge and frame to [email protected] before you order.

Between properties:

  1. Unlock the InvinciBolt Lock and take it off.
  2. Put the original deadbolt back. Keeping its parts and screws together in a bag when you first take it out makes this quick.
  3. Fill the holes left in the frame and touch up the paint.
  4. Store the lock with its keys until the next vacancy.

Weighing other options? Ways to Secure a Vacant Property’s Door sets the InvinciBolt Lock beside rekeying, a hasp, a rented steel door guard and plywood.
